Do I Really Need HR?

(Spoiler: Yes, and Here’s Why)

When you run a small or growing business, it’s natural to question what you really need. A decent coffee machine? Probably. A website? Definitely. HR? Hmm… maybe not yet?

The truth is, HR has a bit of a branding problem. People often think it’s just for big corporates with boardrooms. But the reality is: if you’ve got people, you’ve already got HR.

You’ve got HR when someone asks for parental leave and you're not sure what you're required to offer. You’ve got HR when you need to hire a second-in-command and you want to get it right. You’ve got HR when a team member is underperforming, and it’s starting to impact the rest of the business — but you don’t know how to bring it up.

These aren’t theoretical. They’re very real, very human situations. And without the right support, they can feel like a minefield.

That’s where outsourced HR comes in.

At Two Heads HR, I work with founders, directors and business owners who didn’t start their companies to manage HR — but know it matters. They want their teams to be engaged, safe, and productive. They want to do things properly (without wading through Fair Work’s website at midnight). And they want someone they can trust to give straight answers, not fluff.

Outsourced HR isn’t about making things more complex. It’s about making the people side of your business easier to navigate. Whether you need help with policies, recruitment, performance conversations, or just a sounding board when you’re unsure — that’s what I’m here for.

You don’t need a whole HR department. You just need one good head. (Or in this case… Two.)

Welcome to Two Heads HR. I’m glad you’re here.
